FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Friday afternoon, the Indiana Tech baseball team hosted Aquinas for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference doubleheader. The Warriors took game one of the doubleheader 4-3 but fell in the second game 8-1. The Warriors now move to 18-9 overall and 6-6 in the conference.
Tech started hot again in game one, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the first inning off back-to-back-to-back doubles from
Brice Stultz,
Christian Mojica, and
Tyler Stahl.
Carson McNulty drove in a run in his only at-bat with another Warrior double.
Ryan Troxel was on the bump for game one getting the win to move to a 7-1 record on the year. Troxel allowed 7 hits, 1 earned run, and struck out 4 batters.
The Warriors' bats went cold in game two as Daftari, Stahl, and
AJ Dull were the only Warriors to record hits, with Daftari driving in the Warrior's lone run. Aquinas did most of their damage in the third inning as they scored 5 of their 8 runs.
Tech travels to Grand Rapids for another WHAC doubleheader with the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles on Saturday afternoon. Game one is set to start at 1 PM.
