MARION, Ind. – The lights shone a little too bright for Tech as the Warrior men's soccer team were dealt their first loss of the season at the hands of the Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats on Wednesday night at Wildcat Field. A goal in each half was enough for the Wildcats to secure the 2-0 win over the Warriors as Tech moves to 0-1-1 on the young season.
It was an off night for the Warriors as they struggled to get anything going and find the final pass offensively. Tech was outshot by the Wildcats 10-1 in the game, with the Wildcats breaking through at the 18:35 mark in the first half as Brandon Nyagurungo found the net off a square ball across the box from Giuseppe Santacroce. Wesleyan put the game on ice with a goal in the 72
nd minute as Santacroce saw his second assist of the night hit the net off the foot of Taha Houssni.
Tech continues its season with another Crossroads League opponent in the No. 1 ranked Bethel University Pilots. The Orange and Black travel to Mishawaka next Wednesday, September 6, with kick-off set for 6:30 p.m.
