FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team hosted Madonna University on Saturday afternoon for the first of their two clashes with the Crusaders this season. Tech looked to close the week with their third win and did just that as they cruised past the Crusaders 3-0(25-9, 25-10, 25-21) to remain perfect in WHAC play at 5-0.
 
The Warriors were dominant in the first set, scoring on seemingly every attacking opportunity. Tech also showed a strong defensive front as they closed the set on an 11-1 run, with back-to-back blocks by Jacqueline Allaway and Noelle VanOort highlighting the run. Set two was another dominant performance for the Warriors. Tech's speed of play proved to be a continuous problem for the Crusaders as the Orange and Black took the set 25-10. Madonna's offense started to come alive in the third, but the Warrior defense kept giving the offense scoring chances, which allowed the Orange and Black to win the third set and complete the sweep.
 
The Warriors had an all-around dominant performance over the Crusaders as they posted 45 kills to Madonna's 22 and boasted a .396 attacking percentage for the match while holding the Crusaders to .067. Defense was an all-around team effort on the home side of the net today, with every Warrior recording at least one dig.
 
The Orange and Black are back in action on Wednesday as Lourdes University comes to town for another Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference showdown, with the first serve set for 7:00 p.m.
