FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team lost a closely contested battle against Rochester University on Saturday afternoon, falling 1-0.
Rochester entered the game atop the early season conference standings with a 2-0 WHAC record and 8-1 overall. They would ride that hot start into the game ripping off 13 shots in the first half. However, the Indiana Tech defense and goalkeeper
Michaela Bitle would keep the visiting Warriors off the board as the two sides would be all tied up at 0-0 at the half. Two minutes into the second half, Rochester would finally break through capitalizing on a Tech defensive mistake deep in their own half. Trailing 1-0, the Orange & Black would not give up. Tech would take control for about ten minutes toward the end of the second half, putting the Rochester keeper to work in order to try to preserve their lead. Ultimately, the Warriors would come up short as Rochester would hang on for the 1-0 victory. Bitle would make eleven saves in the loss.
Indiana Tech now sits at 0-2-1 in WHAC play and falls to 2-6-1 overall. The Warriors will host the RV University of Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday, October 4
th at 5pm.
