Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Big First Half Helps Extend Warriors Win Streak to 7

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team traveled to Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Saturday afternoon to take on the Cardinals of Concordia University (Mich.) in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference showdown. A big first half for the Orange and Black helped lift them past Concordia 76-61 and extend their win streak to 7. Tech improved to 11-5 and sits at 9-1 in conference play.

The Cardinals opened the game's scoring and were reluctant to let the Warriors get the edge, retaking the lead each of the four times Tech drew level in the opening 8 minutes. With 12:36 left in the first half, Crew Gibson hit a three, which gave the Warriors their first lead, one they would hold for the remainder of the game. Gibson had a big first half for the Warriors, going a perfect 6-6 from the field with 3 threes, scoring 16 points, leading Tech on a 29-11 run to close the half and take a 47-28 lead into the locker room. In the second half, the Cardinals cut the Warrior lead to 11 two times, but that was all the Orange and Black would give as they maintained the lead they had established in the opening 20 minutes to win 76-61.

Crew Gibson led the Warriors in scoring off the bench with 20 points while adding 2 rebounds and 1 assist. Max Perez added 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist. Brady Titus and Lucas Lyyski both added 10 points and 6 rebounds, while Titus added 7 assists, and Lyyski contributed 2 blocks.

Next up for the Orange and Black is a matchup with the top team in the conference standings, Lourdes University, on Wednesday evening. Tip-off against the Gray Wolves is set for 7:30 p.m.
