FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech track and field team hosted their second indoor meet of the season on Friday and used the occasion to collect four more NAIA "A" standards and two "B"s. The performance pushed the number of national standards to 30 "A"s and 14 "B"s for the entire team, assuring a healthy Tech presence will be seen at the national championships in March.
Esau Haynes was one of three Warriors to turned a "B" into an "A" with his first place finish in the men's 60m. He is just .05 seconds off the PR that has him ranked 6th in school history in the event.
McKale Hood continued his phenomenal freshman season, clearing 2.05m (6'8.75") to earn the "A" standard as well as leap into a tie for 7th on the all-time high jump list. He is now #2 all-time among freshman in Tech history.
Lisa Voyles, already a three-time national champion in the indoor 1000m, checked off another standard, winning the event in 2:50.67. Teammate
Krista Boese also dipped just under the "A" standard in the 1000m in 3:01.57, a time that will convert to the "A" due to the 200m flat track she ran it on.
