Warriors Fall to the Crusaders in Close Contest

LIVONIA, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team traveled to Livonia, Michigan, over the weekend to match up with the Crusaders of Madonna University. A game in which Madonna outlasted the Warriors in the second half, as Tech fell 79-83. The Warriors move to 11-7 on the season and 9-3 in the conference.
 
The two teams were trading buckets through the opening five minutes, with Tech leading 12-10 at the 15:42 mark in the first half. Over the next four minutes, the Crusader went on a 13-0 run that was ended by a jumper from Brady Titus. Trailing 29-37 with 5:46 left in the opening half, a lay-in from Steve Helm kickstarted a 15-3 run to close the half for the Warriors as they took a 44-40 lead into the break. Neither team could establish a lead larger than 6 points in the second half, with the Warriors maintaining their narrow lead for the opening 15 minutes, but the Orange and Black couldn't hold on down the stretch, coming up short as they fell 83-79.
 
Brady Titus led the Warriors with 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists. Max Perez contributed 20 points, 1 rebound, and 2 assists. Lucas Lyyski posted 14 points, corralled 5 rebounds, and added 1 assist. Javal Lewis had 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists.
 
The Warriors are back in action on Wednesday as they return home to host the Cleary University Cougars at 8:00 p.m. in the Schaefer Center.
