Men’s Basketball Fall to Golden Eagles

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team was searching for the season sweep of the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles on their trip to Grand Rapids, Michigan, over the weekend but came up short as Cornerstone dealt the Warriors a 76-98 loss. The Warriors have dropped three of their last four, sitting at 12-8 on the season and 10-4 in conference play.

Out of the gate, Brady Titus had the hot hand, leading Tech on a 6-0 run to start the game and scoring 12 of the Warriors' first 18 points, combined with Javal Lewis, who added the other 6 as Tech led 18-16 at the 10:41 mark in the first half. With 7:57 left in the opening half, a long ball from Dallas Roberts tied the game at 21, but Cornerstone would end the half on a 25-13 run, sending the Warriors to the locker room with a 34-46 deficit. The Golden Eagles didn't slow down in the second half, going on a 23-6 run across the first seven minutes, expanding the cushion between the teams to 29 points. The Orange and Black battled, but the margin was too large to overcome, ultimately falling to the Golden Eagles 76-98.

Brady Titus led the Warriors with 23 points and 4 rebounds on 11-14 shooting. Javal Lewis had 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 block. Crew Gibson added 10 points and 7 rebounds off the bench.

The Warriors return to action on Wednesday evening as they host Siena Heights University in the Schaefer Center, with the game set to begin at 8:00 p.m.
