FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team got back in the win column after a dominant performance on Wednesday evening, taking down the visiting Saints of Siena Heights University with a final score of 99-53. The Warriors move to 13-8 on the season and 11-4 in conference play.
Tech got off to a good start in the first half, going on an 11-4 run in the opening 4 minutes. The Saints kept the game close over the next few minutes and cut the Warrior lead to 3 with 14:34 remaining in the first half. Over the next five minutes, the Orange and Black responded with a 19-0 run to establish a 34-10 lead. Shooting 66.7% from the field in the first half while knocking down 6 threes on 12 attempts, the Warriors cruised to a 56-24 margin headed into the locker room. The Warriors kept the momentum out of the locker room, dominating the boards and the paint, outrebounding the Saints 54-23 in the game while scoring 44 points in the paint to the Saints 18. Tech shot 48.6% in the second half en route to a 99-53 win.
The Warriors had six players contribute double-figures in scoring, led by
Lucas Lyyski, who had a game-high 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Steele Brasfield scored 17 off the bench with 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
Crew Gibson also added 15 points off the bench with 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
Brady Titus posted 12 points, 8 rebounds, and a game-high 5 assists.
Max Perez and
Dallas Roberts added 10 points each. Perez grabbed 5 boards and added 4 assists, and Roberts added 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
The Orange and Black are back in action on Saturday as they host Aquinas College for a WHAC showdown. Tip-off against the Saints is set for 3:00 p.m.
