DEARBORN, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team traveled to Dearborn, Michigan, on Wednesday evening for their first contest of the 2024 calendar year. In their first match-up with the Wolverines this year, Tech was dominant en route to their 24-point 88-64 victory. The Warriors improve to 10-3 on the season and remain unbeaten in conference play at 7-0.
The Warrior took control of the game early, extending their lead to 9 with three minutes remaining in the first quarter, and took a 23-16 lead into the second quarter. The Warriors' lead hit double-digits in the second quarter as the Orange and Black took a 15-point 49-34 lead into the locker room. Out of the break, the Warriors had a slower third quarter, as UM-Dearborn fought back and cut the Warriors lead to 5 with 2:15 left in the quarter, but the Warriors closed the third quarter on a 7-2 run to reestablish a 10-point lead. The fourth quarter was all Tech, as they asserted their dominance and outscored the Wolverines 26-12 to claim the 88-64 win.
Erika Foy led the way for the Warriors with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Korryn Smith had 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Bethany Worm scored 14 points off the bench with a team-high 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
Juliana Burris also ended in double-figures with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.
The Warriors are back in action on Saturday as they host Rochester University in the Schaefer Center. Tip-off against the Warriors is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
