FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team posted their second highest goal total on Saturday afternoon in an offensive explosion as they took down Concordia University 6-0.
The Warriors have been in good form as of late, winning their third game in the last four. Freshman
Nin Way got things started for Tech with a goal in the 38
th minute on an assist from
Abby Strasser. A couple minutes later, in the 42
nd minute,
Catherine Harold made it 2-0 Warriors on an assist from
Payton Kuhn, which they would take into the halftime break. In the second half,
Cassie Palazzolo would score twice in under two minutes and Way would add her second of the game two minutes later to put the Warriors firmly ahead 5-0 with about 25 minutes to play. Tech would control the play and see out the game as the defense held Concordia to just two shots all game as they picked up their third shutout in the last four games. Strasser would be instrumental on both ends of the field as the defender from Ham Lake, Minnesota would also score in the final ten seconds of the game to go along with her first half assist and 90-minute shutout performance.
Ursula Romero would play the full 90 minutes in goal, making one save in the win.
The Warriors improve to 5-7-3 overall on the season and 4-3-2 in WHAC play with three games to go as they fight for a spot in the WHAC Tournament. Up next, Tech will play #25 University of Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday, October 23
rd at 6pm at Warrior Athletic Field.
