Women's Volleyball Earns Two Wins in Michigan

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team traveled to southeastern Michigan over the weekend to compete in two WHAC contests. First, the Warriors took on Lawrence Tech on Friday in Southfield before squaring off with Rochester Christian University on Saturday afternoon.
 
On Friday, the Warriors came away with the victory in 3-1 fashion, with set scores of 25-19, 25-27, 25-22, 25-19. The Warrior's attack was led by the tandem of Noelle VanOort and Amelia Schultz, with 13 kills each. Hannah Teich continues the season trend of picking apart the opposing serve receive, leading the side with 5 aces. Taylor Sorg led the Orange and Black with 4 blocks, while Sara Gomperts led Tech in assists and digs with 36 and 24, respectively.
 
Saturday's battle with the Rochester Christian Warriors was all Tech as the Orange and Black took three straight sets, 25-17, 25-17, 25-19. Taylor Sorg had a top performance in the middle of the court, leading the Warriors in kills with 12 and blocks with 5. Hannah Teich added 4 aces to her season tally, bringing her total to 53 this far. Sara Gomperts added 30 assists, and Kassidy Boener led the side with 12 digs.
 
The Warriors are back in action on Friday for their final regular season home weekend. They host Madonna University at 7:00 p.m. before hosting UM-Dearborn on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. for senior day.
