FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team played their final two matches of the regular season over the weekend, hosting Madonna University on Friday evening, where the Warriors came out on top 3-1 before sweeping UM-Dearborn to highlight their senior day on Saturday.
The Warriors started slowly against the Crusaders, losing the first set 28-26. However, the loss in the first set woke the Warriors up as they came out hot in set two, winning 25-12 and setting the tone for the remainder of the match. Tech kept things going in the third and fourth sets, winning those 25-21 and 25-13.
Noelle VanOort led the Warriors with 21 kills and 5 aces,
Taylor Sorg with 5 blocks,
Sara Gomperts with 44 assists, and
Kassidy Boener with 19 digs.
On Saturday, the Warriors celebrated their seniors and wrapped up their final home game of the regular season with a 3-0 sweep, 25-19, 25-22, 25-22, over the University of Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines. The Orange and Black were led by
Katie Gostovich with 16 kills and 11 digs,
Noelle VanOort added 5 aces,
Taylor Sorg posted 3 blocks, and
Sara Gomperts dished out 34 assists.
The Warriors are back in action on Wednesday, October 30, as they travel to Adrian, Michigan, to take on Siena Heights at 7:30 p.m.
