WHAC Title Will Come Down to the Final Day as Men’s Soccer Routes Rochester Christian

WASHINGTON, Mich. – The #17 ranked Indiana Tech men's soccer team was in must win mode on the second to last match day of the 2024 WHAC regular season when they visited Rochester Christian University on Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors entered the day in a tie for first place in the conference with #19 Madonna and know that a slip up now could cost them a championship. With this in mind, Tech would waste no time starting the scoring as Alex Mihov would strike in the 6th minute of the game on an assist from Saladin Lekhal. Later in the first half, Mihov would link up with Mark Mc Daid to add a second for the Warriors as Tech would lead 2-0 after 45 minutes. The Orange & Black would keep their foot on the gas in the second half. Lekhal would add a goal in the 56th minute to go along with his early assist, making it 3-0 (Tramaine Lawson assist). Gui Moreira extends his incredible match point streak to seven games as he would deliver the final blow in this one to make it 4-0 Tech as he would again find his way onto the score sheet with a goal in the 75th minute. Final stats would heavily favor Indiana Tech as they would register a total of 42 shots compared to Rochester Christian's three in the most lopsided statistic of the afternoon. Alex Kyriakides would have little to do in goal for the Warriors as the Tech defense didn't allow any of those three shot attempts to be on target. Kyriakides would play the full 90 minutes in goal and pick up the win for his tenth of the season.

The Warriors make it 14 games in a row without a loss as they improve to 10-1-4 overall on the season and 8-0-2 in WHAC play. Tech will now prepare for their final game of the season when they host Lawrence Tech on Wednesday, October 30th at 6pm at Warrior Athletic Field. The Warriors will be laying it all on the line on Wednesday as a win will give them at least a share of the WHAC Regular Season Championship and they could win it outright with a win against the Blue Devils and a tie or loss by Madonna.
