ADRIAN, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team traveled to Adrian, Michigan, for a midweek matchup with the Saints of Siena Heights University on Wednesday evening. Tech looked to complete the season sweep over the Saints after taking the first meeting between the sides on September 25th but came up short as the hosts came out on top 3-1.
The two sides were level through the opening stages of the opening set. Locked at 5-5, the Saints seized control of the set with a 10-2 run to lead 15-7. Shortly after the Saints' run, Tech answered with an 8-0 run of their own to cut the lead to one point. From there, the Orange and Black closed the set on a 9-4 run to take the opener 25-21. In the second and third set, the Warriors could not get anything going, as the Saints controlled the sets from start to finish, never trailing on their way to 25-14 and 25-15 victories. Tech battled in the fourth set but came up short as the Saints took the match with a 25-21 win.
Noelle VanOort led the side with 13 kills.
Hannah Teich had team-high aces and blocks with 2 and 7, respectively.
Isabella Assaley led the Orange and Black with 16 assists, while
Gabriela Ortiz-Acevedo and
Sara Gomperts posted 15 digs each.
The Warriors are back in action in Sylvania, Ohio, on Friday, November 1, as they take on Lourdes University at 7:00 p.m.
