Men’s Soccer Makes It Ten Straight Games Unbeaten with 3-0 Win Over Cleary

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The #18 ranked Indiana Tech men's soccer team was back in action Wednesday night, coming off their bye, as they hosted Cleary University in a WHAC contest under the lights.

Despite seeing no game action in the past week, the Warriors would waste no time continuing their run of form scoring in the opening two minutes of play. Jahiem Rose would score his first goal as a Warrior after Gui Moreira slotted a ball across the box to a charging Rose to run onto and bury into the net. Tech would take that 1-0 scoreline into the halftime break. In the second half, Cleary would commit a foul just outside the penalty area, giving the Warriors a very dangerous free kick opportunity. Senior Alex Mihov would step up to take the kick and would find the back of the net to make it 2-0 Warriors in the 63rd minute. In the 81st minute, substitute Liam Arthur would intercept a bad pass back from a Cleary defender and catch the goalkeeper way out of his box. Arthur would calmly dribble around the sliding keeper and slot in a third goal for the Orange & Black to finish off the Cougars. Tech would outshoot Cleary 22-5 overall in the game and win the corner battle 6-1. Alex Kyriakides would make the start in goal for the Warriors, picking up the shutout win and making three saves. David Martinez would enter into the game in goal for the Warriors for the final 4 minutes and change, helping to keep the clean sheet.

The win marks the tenth straight game without a loss and a seventh straight win for the Orange & Black as they continue to stay perfect in WHAC play with a 7-0 record. Overall, the Warriors sit at 8-1-2 now on the season as they get set for their biggest challenge to date when they head WHAC rival Madonna University on Saturday, October 12th for a top 20 showdown. The game could very well decide the WHAC Regular Season Championship this year as both sides are entering the contest with 7-0 records and just four more games remaining after its conclusion. Kickoff is set for 1pm at 4pm in Livonia, Michigan.
