Warriors Fall Just Short to Defending National Champions

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The #9 ranked Indiana Tech Men's hockey team fell short in both games of a two-game game series against #12 Adrian College on Wednesday and Friday night, shifting their overall record to 8-2-0.

In game one, the Warriors couldn't find the back of the net as the first period of play was scoreless, followed by Adrian College scoring two goals, one in the second and one in the third period, ending with a 2-0 loss for the Warriors. Goaltender Gage Reimer saved 29 out of 31 shots on Wednesday night on the road.

Game two opened with Adrian scoring at 15:34, putting the Bulldogs up 1-0. Later in the period, at 18:58, Adrian scored a powerplay goal extending their lead to 2-0 heading into the second period. The Warriors came alive in the second period, responding with three consecutive goals in under three minutes to take the lead. Pavel Svoboda scored at 12:41, with an assist from Aidan Dufort, narrowing the gap to 2-1. Only moments later, at 13:03, Connor Funke tied the game at 2-2 with a goal assisted by Svoboda. Indiana Tech continued their momentum at 15:00 as Dufort scored unassisted, putting them ahead 3-2. Adrian fought back to tie the game before the second period ended, making the score 3-3. At 4:32 in the third period, Adrian scored restoring their lead to 4-3. The Warriors battled back, but Adrian sealed their victory scoring one more goal in the third period ending the game with a 5-3 Warriors loss at home on Friday night.
