FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team returned to the floor on Saturday afternoon, hosting Lourdes University in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match-up, where a strong first half helped lift the Warriors past the visitors 85-67.
The opening nine minutes was a battle that saw five lead changes and one tie. With a triple and then a strong take for a lay-in on back-to-back possessions,
Blake Davison kickstarted a 16-3 run that spanned four minutes and saw the Warriors take a double-digit lead, 25-14. Lourdes responded with a quick 7-0 run of their own to cut the lead to four, but Tech answered down the stretch, extending their lead back to double figures before a
Dallas Roberts three at the horn put the Orange and Black up 42-29 heading into the break. In the second half, Tech picked up where it left off in the first, controlling the game with intense defense and finding high-quality looks on the offensive end.
Crew Gibson led the side in with eleven points in the final twenty minutes while the squad shot an efficient 60.7%. A three from
Max Perez at the 3:13 mark gave Tech their largest lead of the night, 26, before settling for an 85-67 victory.
Crew Gibson led the Orange and Black offensively with fifteen points, four blocks, and two assists.
Blake Davison scored fourteen points, grabbed one board, and dished out three assists.
Javel Lewis added eleven points, eight rebounds, and two assists.
Dallas Roberts put up twelve points off the bench, all of which came from long range.
Jaxson Fugate posted ten points, four rebounds, and two steals.
The Warriors now sit at 7-3 overall while remaining unbeaten in the conference at 6-0. Up next, the Orange and Black take a trip to California, where a showdown with La Sierra University waits for them on December 17.
