FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team returned to action on Saturday afternoon, meeting the Lourdes University Gray Wolves for the first time this season in the Schaefer Center. With a dominant performance, the Orange and Black took care of business, 84-58, to remain unbeaten in the WHAC.
 
The Warriors were on fire out of the gate, knocking down their first seven attempts from the floor while sprinting to an 18-0 lead through the first five minutes. Taylor Covington paced the way, scoring seventeen in the first frame on the way to a 28-13 advantage. Tech maintained the pressure in the second quarter, forcing five turnovers while only coughing it up once, helping them grow their lead to 25 points, 52-27, heading into halftime. The two sides were level in the second half, as Tech continued to hold the lead they established early. Covington continued to pace the Warriors in the second half, scoring eighteen points in the final twenty minutes to lift the Warriors past the Gray Wolves 84-58.
 
Taylor Covington led all scorers with a career-high 40 points. She also co-led the side with five assists and swiped three steals. Genevieve Decker posted fourteen points, grabbed nine rebounds, and was the other assist lead, matching Covington with five. Juliana Burris added ten points, six rebounds, and four assists.
 
The win lifts Tech to 8-3 on the season while sitting at 5-0 in conference play. The Warriors will travel to Cornerstone University on Wednesday, December 18, for their next contest. Tip-off with the Golden Eagles is set for 5:30 p.m.
