FORT WAYNE, Ind. - In an impressive display, the Indiana Tech Warriors secured a solid win over the Taylor Trojans on Monday evening in the Schaefer Center. The final score read Indiana Tech 66, Taylor 50, as the Warriors move to 10-4 on the season.
After a toughly fought first quarter, which saw the Trojans leading 14-12, the Warriors took control of the game. A strong second frame helped Tech establish a halftime lead of 32-25. The team's performance took an upswing in the second half, where the Orange and Black extended their lead consistently before ballooning the advantage to its largest margin, 21 points, with just under four to go in the fourth quarter. The Trojans would narrow the gap slightly in the final minutes as Tech settled for the 66-50 victory.
Genevieve Decker stood out with a double-double, garnering 14 points, 14 rebounds, and five assists.
Korryn Smith also played a crucial role, scoring 13 points. The team effort was rounded out by
Juliana Burris, who contributed 10 points and seven rebounds.
Looking ahead, the Warriors are set to host Aquinas College on January 4 in the Schaefer Center. Tip-off with the Saints is set for 1:00 p.m.
