Warriors Increase Win Streak to Twelve with 40 Point Win

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team completed the season sweep and extended their win streak to twelve games on the road at Rochester University with a dominant 40-point 83-43 win. With the win today, the Orange and Black remain perfect in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) at 18-0 and improve to 21-3 overall.

The opening ten minutes was a brawl, with little separation as the two squads looked for some advantage. Celeste Mershimer did her best to put Rochester on top, scoring 14 of her 32 points in the opening quarter, but Erika Foy had the last say of the frame, cutting Rochester's lead to 20-19 going into the second quarter. Foy also started things in the second quarter, kickstarting a 10-2 run to start the quarter, which put Tech up for good. Rochester cut the Orange and Black's lead to 4 points with four minutes left in the second quarter, but their offensive struggles down the stretch allowed Tech to extend their lead to 39-27 going into halftime.

The Orange and Black maintained control in the second half as Tech's defense kept Rochester off schedule, not allowing them to get into any rhythm, resulting in a struggling offense that was outscored by Tech 44-16.  The Warrior's offense was efficient, shooting 55% from the field while controlling the interior, as they scored 42 points in the paint on their way to an 83-43 win.

Erika Foy led the Warriors with 27 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 assist. Genevieve Decker posted 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Taylor Covington and Juliana Burris added 9 points apiece, and Amaris Lowery led the team in rebounds with 8.

The Warriors return to action on Wednesday, February 14, at home against the University of Michigan-Dearborn, starting at 6:00 p.m.
