SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team was dealt a 76-65 loss by the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils on Wednesday night during their trip to Southfield, Michigan. The Blue Devils got their revenge over the Warriors after Tech claimed the first season meeting 91-85 back in November.
The opening 20 minutes was a battle with both teams searching for any advantage. The Warriors maintained a narrow lead for most of the opening 15 minutes but couldn't establish any separation as the Blue Devils never let Tech take a larger lead than 5 points. In the closing 5 minutes of the first half, Lawrence Tech took a 5-point lead that was reeled back in by the Orange and Black as the Warriors spoke last in the frame to take a 32-31 lead at the midway point.
The start of the second half was similar to the first, with neither team able to establish a lead through the first 4 minutes. To the delight of the Blue Devils, the Warriors went on a 6-minute scoreless run with Lawrence Tech watching their narrow lead swell to 20 points. The Orange and Black battled back and cut the lead to single digits, but the damage was done as they were unable to get any closer than 9 points, falling 76-65.
