Warriors Fall to Tennessee Wesleyan in Two-Game Series

ATHENS, Tenn. – The Indiana Tech baseball team traveled to Athens, Tennessee, for a midweek two-game series with the No. 6 ranked Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan University. The Bulldogs showed why they're the sixth-ranked team in the country, downing the Warriors 13-3 and 12-4 in the two games.

In the series' first game, the Bulldogs got out on the front foot, scoring in the bottom of the first inning to establish an early lead. Adding two more runs in the bottom of the second, the hosts widened the margin between the two teams. Tyler Stahl had a day at the plate for the Orange and Black, going 4 for 4 with 2 RBIs; both came off a double to left field in the top of the fourth inning, which cut the lead to just one run. The hosts quickly responded with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to retake a more significant lead and never looked back, adding six more runs in the final three innings to take the 13-3 victory.

In game two, the Bulldogs picked up where they left off in game one offensively. A long ball accounted for half of the four runs sent across home in the opening frame. Christian Mojica led the Warriors offense with 2 RBIs while going 2 for 3 at the plate. The Bulldogs offense continued to rattle off runs, scoring eight through the middle innings, ballooning their lead on the way to a 12-4 victory.

The Warriors are back in action on Saturday for their first home game of the season as they open conference play by hosting Lawrence Tech University at 1:00 p.m.
