Men’s Lacrosse Falls to No. 5 Patriots

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The No. 8 ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team traveled to Williamsburg, Kentucky for a road contest against the No. 5 ranked University of the Cumberlands on Saturday afternoon, where the Warriors would go down 10-19 to the Patriots.
 
In the contest, the Patriots would take an early 3-1 lead, but the Warriors would then score three goals in under two minutes to take the lead. Cumberlands would get a goal a couple minutes later to tie it at four through one quarter of play. In the second quarter, the Patriots would go on their own 3-0 run to regain the lead and would hold on, taking it into the half up 8-6. Things would start to open up in the third quarter as the Warriors would unravel, allowing Cumberlands to outscore them 8-1 in the period bringing the deficit up to nine. Tech was able to match the Patriots in the final quarter with three goals apiece, but were too far behind to mount a comeback, falling 10-19. Devin Macomber and Nate Langille would pick up most of the points for the Orange & Black in this one with five (4 G, 1 A) and four (3 G, 1 A) respectively. Nate Durham would pick up 11 ground balls for the Warriors and cause one turnover, while Grant Seaman would cause two turnovers in the game. Kyle TwoBulls would make 11 saves in goal for the Warriors in the loss.
 
The Warriors now fall to 1-4 on the season and will look to regroup heading into conference play next week. Tech will open up WHAC play on the road in Ann Arbor, Michigan when they face off with No. 7 ranked Concordia University on Saturday, March 23rd at 3pm.
