ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 8 ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team traveled to Ann Arbor, Michigan for a top ten matchup with No. 7 Concordia University in their first game of conference play on Saturday afternoon, where it would come down to the wire between the WHAC heavyweights.
The Warriors would get out to a 3-0 start in the first quarter with two goals from
Nate Langille and would grow their lead to 6-2 early in the second. However, the Cardinals would go on a run to draw level with the Warriors, making it 7-7 just before halftime. In a low scoring third quarter, Concordia would outscore Tech 2-1 to lead 9-8 heading into the final period of play. Concordia would strike first in the fourth quarter as the two sides would alternate goals, with
Cooper Langille scoring for Tech with 6:41 left in the game to bring the Warriors within one. Unfortunately for the Orange & Black, there would be no goals after Langille's as the Warriors would fall in a tight one 10-11.
Nate Langille would lead the Warriors with three goals and three assists against the Cardinals, while
Devin Macomber added a hattrick of goals and one assist.
Nick Craddock would lead Tech with three caused turnovers and four ground balls, while
Nate Durham would grab four ground balls and cause one turnover.
Kyle TwoBulls would do all he could in goal for the Warriors, making 19 saves, picking up three ground balls, and causing two turnovers in the loss.
The Warriors now sit at 1-5 on the season 0-1 to open WHAC play. Tech will travel instate to Upland, Indiana for a WHAC matchup with Taylor University in their next game, scheduled for Wednesday, March 27
th at 3pm.
