Warriors Down Saints in Three Straight Sets

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team completed the season sweep over the Aquinas College Saints with a 3-0 win in the Schaefer Center on Saturday afternoon. Tech took down the Saints 3-0 in their first meeting back on March 2.

The Orange and Black came flying out of the gate in the first set. After trading a few points to start the set, Raekwon Rogers sparked an 11-0 run with a kill, which put the Warriors up 14-4. Tech kept their foot down, continuing to stretch their lead to an eventual 25-10 victory. In the second set, the two sides matched each other shot for shot through the first eight points, but with the game knotted, the Warriors found a slight advantage after a short 4-0 run. Tech maintained the advantage, but leading 24-20, the Saints had one last push, scoring three straight points. Mason Milan ended the Saints' run with a kill to claim set two 25-23. The third set was another tight contest early on. With the set tied at eleven, the Orange and Black began to slowly creep away from the Saints and establish a little cushion between the opposition. The short 3-0 run to put Tech up 14-11 proved an important swing, as Tech maintained that lead to the end, winning set three 25-22.

Mason Milan led the Warrior attack with nine kills. Mario Capo, Jacob Carrico, and Clayton Wheatley all contributed one service ace. Armaan Dasanjh orchestrated the Warriors offense, adding 26 assists. Defensively, Raekwon Rogers was a force at the net with a game-high nine blocks. Jacob Carrico held things down in the back row with eight digs.

The Warriors are back in action on Friday, April 5, as they host the Siena Heights Saints in a WHAC contest starting at 7:00 p.m.
