CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Indiana Tech track teams were in Cincinnati, Ohio over the weekend competing in the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational hosted by the University of Cincinnati.
Ryah DiGiacomo was one of the standouts of the meet, setting a new freshman record and a school record in the javelin. DiGiacomo broke Mary Leighton's two-year standing record of 40.33m in the event with a mark of 40.88m on her way to an NAIA 'A' standard!
Additional highlights from the meet:
- Mason Murphy with a PR and new all-time #2 mark in the hammer throw of 49.97m.
- Christian Dixon throws 15.13m in the men's shot put to move to #7 on the all-time list.
- Evelyn Dolce clears 3.55, in her collegiate outdoor debut to go #6 on the all-time Indiana Tech pole vault list.
- The women's 4x100m team of Pogue, Grenyion, Gibson, and Warthen runs a blazing fast 45.02 to not only win the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational but post the #4 time in school history (and fastest since 2014)!
- The men's 4x100m team runs 40.68 to take 2nd at Cincy.
- Jamaya Warthen wins the 100m at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational in a smoking fast early season time of 11.67. That's just .01 off her PR.
- Esau Haynes takes the title in the men's 100m in 10.46.
- Miles Gray opens his outdoor season with a win in the 400m in 47.53. Braden Crosby is just behind in 5th at 48.33.
- Collins Mokuah (14.39), Javon Sanders (14.73), and Diego Sekiyama-Nava (15.00) go 2-3-4 in the 110m hurdles at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational.
- Kiya Pogue (13.90) and Katlyn Jones (14.41) take 3rd and 4th in the 100m hurdles.
- Collins Mokuah (53.46) and Javon Sanders (54.43) finish 1st and 2nd in the 400m hurdles.
- Jamaya Warthen finishes 1st in 23.70 and Derica Gibson is 3rd in 24.67 in the 200m at Cincinnati. Warthen's time is a PR and a new #4 all-time mark.
- Korey Allen runs to a PR of 15:19.00 in the 5000m to move to #9 on the all-time list.
The Warriors will compete next at the George Glass Invitational in Upland, Indiana on April 6
th.
