KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team faced another tough test in nonconference play on the site of Bourke Field at Rockhurst University on Saturday. The Warriors would fall to the Hawks 12-22 in their first of three games in four days being played out west.
The Warriors would get off to a rough start against the NCAA Division II opponents, being outscored 11-0 to start the game. Tech would get its first goal from
Kinley Hynote at the nine minute mark of the second quarter.
Josh Bramley would also score in the quarter as the Orange & Black would trail 13-2 at the half. The Warriors would win the third quarter 3-2 with goals from
Devin Macomber,
Samuel Bodley, and
Nate Langille. Tech would try to mount a comeback in the fourth starting the quarter on a 7-3 run and cutting the deficit to six with just over seven minutes remaining, but the Hawks would add a few late goals to put the Warriors' comeback to rest. Macomber would lead the Warriors in points, goals, assists, and caused turnovers with six, four, two, and one respectively, while also picking up three ground balls. Langille would pick up four points on two goals and two assists in the contest.
Kyle TwoBulls would make 13 saves in goal for the Warriors in just over 52 minutes of game action, while also causing one turnover and picking up four ground balls.
Nehemiah Loving-Lewis would play the other eight minutes in goal for Tech, making one save.
The Warriors will now head further west to Atchinson, Kansas where they will take on RV Benedictine College (Kan.) on March 10
th and No. 6 William Penn University (Iowa) on March 12
th.
