BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech softball team traveled to Beverly Hills, Michigan, on Sunday to take on Lawrence Tech in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference doubleheader, in which the Warriors were dominant, taking both games, 9-1 and 12-0.
The Warriors got things started in the first inning of game one as they plated two runs to grab the early lead.
Savannah Bravo held the Blue Devils scoreless through the first four innings, but the fifth inning saw both sides put runs on the scoreboard. The Orange and Black put up three from a three-run home run off the bat of
Katie O'Drobinak. The Blue Devils scored their only run of the game in the fifth. The Warrior's offense continued to tally runs as they scored four more in the top of the sixth. Bravo closed the door and held the host's offense scoreless in the inning to end the game after six innings.
Kenadee Schnick led the Warriors with three hits in four trips to the plate and scored three runs.
Katie O'Drobinak was the driving force as she went two for four with four RBIs and one run scored.
The Warrior's offense kept rolling in game two, scoring four runs in the opening frame. In the second, the Orange and Black tallied two more runs to extend their lead to 6-0. The third inning was scoreless for both teams, but the Warriors came out hot in the fourth, scoring five more runs. Tech added one more run in the top of the fifth, winning 12-0.
Jayme Koning got the win in the circle. Kaite O'Drobinak led the side with three hits in four plate appearances and had five RBIs.
The Warriors take a break from conference action on Thursday as they host Trinity Christian College for a doubleheader at 3:00 p.m.
