FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech softball team honored their seniors before the start of their WHAC doubleheader with Cornerstone University on Saturday afternoon at Warrior Park. Tech took both ends of the clash with the Golden Eagles, 8-0 in game one and 4-3 in game two.
Tech came out swinging in the opener as they scored four runs in the bottom half of the first inning to snag an early lead. The Orange and Black added another run in the second as
Kenadee Schnick picked up the RBI with a ground ball to first. Self-inflicted wounds continued to hurt the Golden Eagles as they gave up two of their four unearned runs in the bottom of the fourth inning as the Warriors took an 8-0 lead.

Alyssa Fox,
Katie O'Drobinak, and
Jayme Koning each recording one.
It was the Golden Eagles who took control in game two. The visitors scored one run in the second and two in the third to take a 3-0 lead over the Warriors. Tech's offense was held scoreless through the first four innings but finally broke through in the fifth as
Jayme Koning drove in two runs with a double to right center. Tech brought in two more runs in the sixth as
Amanda Parker and
Alyssa Fox picked up RBIs to capture their first advantage of game two.
Grace Butcher shut down the visitor's offense, holding them scoreless in the final four innings to earn the win. She allowed just two hits in that time, walked none, and struck out eight.
The Warriors are back in action on Sunday afternoon as they host RV Aquinas College. The doubleheader with the Saints is set to begin at noon.
