ATLANTA, Ga. – The Indiana Tech men's and women's track teams traveled to Atlanta, Georgia this weekend for a two-day meet at Georgia Tech on Friday and Saturday. The Warriors
Miles Gray and
Jacquez Lawson would set class records at the Georgia Tech Invitational in the 400m and triple jump, while
Juan Caballero ran to a top five Tech mark in the steeplechase.
Additional meet highlights:
- Miles Gray set an Indiana Tech senior record in the 400 meters at 47.34. Gray now owns the junior and senior records and ranks #3 all-time.
- Jacquez Lawson set an Indiana Tech freshman record in the triple jump at 14.47m. The previous record of 14.36m was set by Shomari Somerville in 2019.
- Denise Turpin goes #14 all-time in the 400 hurdles with a PR of 66.75.
- Collins Mokuah earns a PR in the 400 hurdles in 52.54, improving his own all-time #6 mark.
- Aaliyah Frederick gets a PR in the 400m in 57.00 to move into the top 20 all-time at Indiana Tech.
- Juan Caballero captures a PR in the 3000m steeplechase in 9:44.91, a mark that moves him up to #5 on Tech's all-time list.
- Kiya Pogue runs to a PR in the 100m in 11.87 to move to #14 on the all-time list. Jamaya Warthen is Tech's top finisher in 11.69.
- Kiya Pogue (13.99) and Katlyn Jones (14.04) finish 6th and 8th respectively in the 100m hurdles.
- Darian Long ties his all-time #10 mark (7.16m) to lead Tech in the long jump.
The Warriors will compete in two meets next weekend, including one at Indiana State University (Terre Haute, Indiana) on Friday, April 26
th and one at Grace College (Winona Lake, Indiana) on Saturday, April 27
th.
