Warriors Sweep Saints in WHAC Doubleheader

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Indiana Tech softball team hit the road for a doubleheader against Siena Heights University on Monday evening, taking both games handedly.

In game one, the Warriors would rout the Saints 8-0 behind some more stellar pitching from Savannah Bravo. She would pick up another complete game shutout, her ninth of the year, on her way to win number 18 on the season. Bravo would finish with a stat line of 7.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, and 5 K's. Alyssa Fox and Allie Forster would lead the Tech offense in game one, both finishing with two hits and two RBIs in the game. Bella Brock, Katie O'Drobinak, and Makena Markle would all pick up one RBI in the win.

In game two, Kenadee Schnick would score to put Tech up 1-0 in the first inning, but Siena Heights would manage to score three runs in the bottom of the first to take a 3-1 lead. Jayme Koning would start on the mound for the Warriors but would only face two batters before being pulled for Grace Butcher. After the first inning, Butcher would shut down the Saints, allowing just six hits and not allowing a run over the final six innings. The Warriors would add a run in the second and the third inning to tie the score at three through three innings. Then in the fourth inning, Tech would take the lead after scoring three runs in the innings with two RBIs coming from Butcher. The Orange & Black would add another insurance run in the top of the seventh, going on to win 7-3. Butcher would finish the game with a stat line of 7.0 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, and 4 K's on the mound, while batting one for four with two RBIs and a run scored. Schnick would finish the game with two hits, while Amanda Parker and Melissa Cabrera would pick up RBIs.

With the sweep, the Warriors improve to 34-11 overall on the season and 14-6 in WHAC play. Tech will face Concordia University on Thursday, April 25th at home in a doubleheader starting at 2pm.
