FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 7 ranked Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team dominated the battle of the Warriors today in their home contest against the Rochester Christian University Warriors, winning 22-1.
Tech got off to a quick start, with
Faith Donally scoring in the first minute of the game from
Noelle Ricci. The Orange & Black would continue to pour it on scoring five goals in under four minutes to start the game on their way to 11 first quarter goals. In the second quarter, Tech would score five goals from five different scorers to balloon their halftime lead to 16-0. The second half was much of the same as the Warriors posted their highest goal output of the season, finishing with 22 goals. The one goal allowed by Tech is their fewest this season. Tech goaltender
Kat Hoff didn't have much to do in the game, facing only two shots, which both came in the final minute of play. Hoff would make one save, while Rochester was able to avoid being shut out scoring with just 29 seconds to play. Leading the Warriors on offense was
Michelle Farrell and
Brooke Buhr with seven points each, while 14 total Warriors would register at least one point in the contest. Farrell would finish with three goals and four assists, as well as nine draw controls, five ground balls, and one caused turnover. Buhr would record one goal and six assists with five draw controls, two caused turnovers, and one ground ball.
Da'zah Regusters would lead Tech in ground balls and caused turnovers with six and five, while also recording five draw controls, two goals, and two assists.
Tech moves their win streak to four in a row, improving to 9-3 overall on the season and 4-1 in WHAC play. The Warriors will host Aquinas College in their next match on Sunday, April 7
th at 12pm.
