UPLAND, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's and women's track teams competed at the George Glass Invitational hosted by Taylor University on Saturday, where the Warriors had some impressive performances.
Additional highlights from the meet:
- Korey Allen goes to #5 all-time in his 3000m debut in 9:48.09. Juan Caballero is right behind in 9:53.80 to go to #7.
- Krista Boese opens up her outdoor season in the 1500m with a time of 4:42.55. She's just off 'B' standard.
- Korah Honig sets a PR in the javelin at 27.07m. Jacob Stetzel also PR's in the 1500m in 4:18.64.
- Joe Mitchell with a big PR in the 100m in 15.60.
- Caleb Stuart takes 4th place in the men's 100m in 11.16.
- Lisa Voyles breezes to a win in the women's 800m in 2:10.19. Krista Boese finishes 3rd in 2:20.57.
- Giulio Romano takes 2nd in the men's 800m in 1:54.18. Dylan Banda goes 1:56.12 and Ngor Agwick finishes in 2:01.77.
- Jayden Tillman finishes 3rd in the men's javelin with a toss of 48.53m. That's just off his PR.
- Rodrigo Davis takes 2nd in the men's long jump in 6.77m (22'2.5").
- In her second race of the day, Lisa Voyles cruises to a win in the 5000m in 17:53.75.
- Deanara Mbouge with a new PR and all-time #7 mark in the discus of 37.39m.
- Evelyn Dolce with an outdoor PR and all-time #6 mark of 3.65m in the women's pole vault.
- Mason Murphy with a PR and all-time #2 mark in the hammer throw of 51.34m. He's now just over a meter away from Daniel Buell's school record. Ian Slebrch also with a big PR that moves him to #7 all-time at 44.20.
- Deanara Mbouge with a PR in the hammer throw of 45.08m. That improves her all-time #2 mark and moves her to just over three meters shy of the school record (48.33m), set by Te'Reia Mackey in 2017.
- Christian Dixon wins the men's discus in 48.29m. That's a new PR and improves his all-time #5 mark.
- Mason Murphy also beats his existing PR and all-time #9 mark in the discus in 43.67m.
The Warriors will be competing in a flurry of meets over the coming week as both the men's and women's teams will be in action on April 12
th and 13
th at the We Fly Challenge in Muncie, Indiana and the Tiffin Track Carnival in Tiffin, Ohio on April 13
th. The women's team will also be sending some of their athletes across the country for the Pacific Coast Invitational in Long Beach, California on April 11
th and the Azusa Pacific Brian Clay Invite in Azusa, California on April 12
th and 13
th.
