SYLVANIA, Ohio. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team was on the road for a second straight game when they traveled to Lourdes University on Wednesday night for a WHAC contest under the lights.
Coming off a tie in their previous game, the Warriors would look to get back on the win column against a tough Lourdes team that was undefeated entering the game tonight with a 5-0-1 overall record and 2-0-0 WHAC record. The box score favored the Gray Wolves in most categories, but the Warriors stayed strong throughout the match. Tech would register three shots in the game from
Alina Garcia,
Jocelyn Alfonso, and
Meddy Masiga, but were unable to convert. However,
Sara Cogoli was doing her job in goal for the Warriors to make sure the Gray Wolves wouldn't capitalize on any chances either. Cogoli would make nine saves in net to keep the Warriors in it, posting a clean sheet for the first 86 minutes of the game. But in the 87
th, Lourdes would finally beat the Italian keeper and steal all three points from the Warriors.
The Warriors fall to 2-6-2 overall on the season and 1-2-1 in WHAC play. The Orange & Black will try to regroup for their next game this Saturday, September 28
th, when they host Siena Heights University on senior day at 4pm.
