FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team returned to the floor on Wednesday evening, hosting the Rochester Christian University Warriors in the Schaefer Center. From start to finish Tech was dominant in the contest, winning 73-36.
The Warriors got off to a fast start, controlling the opening ten minutes, and taking a 20-14 lead into the second quarter. Frames two and three is where the Orange and Black did their damage. Offensively, Tech tallied 17 points in each quarter, but defensively the Warriors were a force, holding Rochester to three points in the second quarter and six in the third quarter. Tech continued to roll in the fourth quarter, settling for a 73-36 victory.
The Warriors were led by
Genevieve Decker, who recorded a double-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and three steals.
Korryn Smith tallied 12 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
Jaidyn Gulley matched Decker's influence on the glass, grabbing 10 boards of her own.
The Orange and Black move to 14-4 on the season and sit at 9-1 in conference play with the win. Up next, the Warriors travel to Defiance, Ohio, to take on Defiance College on Saturday, January 18. Tip-off with the Yellow Jackets is set for 1:00 p.m.
