FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Following a long break for the holidays, the Indiana Tech track and field teams returned to action on Friday when they hosted the Indiana Tech Invitational at the Doug Edgar Indoor Track.  The meet gave the Warriors a chance to knock off the rust and begin the ramp up for another run at national glory in March.

Highlights

• Deanara Mbouge broke the Indiana Tech junior class record in the weight throw in 16.42m
• Kiya Pogue won the 60 meters by nearly a half second, crossing the line in 7.59, just .04 off her PR.
• Tech sprinters took six of the top seven spots in the men's 200 meters, led by Deonsae Dorsey's second straight win.
• Javion Westfield (8.25) edged Collins Mokuah (8.25) in the men's 60 meters as the Warriors went 1 through 4.
• Indiana Tech went 1 through 3 in both the shot put and weight throw.
• Led by Aaliyah Frederick's win in 26.37, the Warriors went 1, 2, 3 in the 200 meters.
• Alyssa Christian won her first collegiate event, taking the women's high jump in 1.62m.
