KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Indiana Tech's
Damien Keys was named the NAIA Men's Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday evening, the national office announced.
Keys was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Men's Field Athlete of the Week on Monday and now earns national recognition, making him the fourth Warrior to claim national honors, joining women's wrestlers Bo Geibe and Rose Kaplan and men's basketball player Jaxson Fugate.
Damien Keys put up a season best mark of 7.49m to PR in the long jump on his way to winning the event at the Indiana Tech Orange & Black Invite. He also improved his NAIA 'A' standard, currently ranked fifth in the country.
The men's track & field team is back in action this weekend with three meets around the Midwest. Tech will send athletes to the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan, the WHAC vs MIAA Challenge in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the Centre Indoor Invite in Danville, Kentucky.
