CHICAGO, Ill. – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team kicked off their season with a trip to Chicago, Illinois, to compete in the Saint Xavier Invite, which featured four top 20 teams in the NAIA preseason poll. The Orange and Black opened the tournament with a match against RV UC Merced in which they fell 0-3. On Friday in the second match, the Warriors faced No. 2 and host of the tournament, Saint Xavier, losing 2-3. Wrapping up the event, Tech matched up with No. 4 ranked Georgetown College where they lost 1-3.
Across the three matches, the Orange and Black's attack was led by
Kristian Kold who posted 33 kills, followed closely by
Dylan Poore who tallied 30. Kold also led the Warrior in serving with five aces.
Daniel Mitsin led the side with 104 assists.
Alex Rosenow led the Warriors defensively with 24 digs, while Mitsin and
Ben Rosenow added 19 each.
Logan Gieseke sent back nine blocks as
Logan Gamero and
Zack Karns tallied eight apiece.
The Warriors are back in action on Thursday, January 30, as they travel to Thomas More University in Crestview Hills, Kentucky for a match.
