Warriors Sweep Saints at Home

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team returned to the floor on Wednesday evening, welcoming the Siena Heights Saints into the Schaefer Center for a conference contest. Dismantling the Saints, the Orange and Black would come out on top, winning in three sets, 25-20, 25-19, and 25-19.

In the opening set, the two sides took a bit to get settled. As a result, the score remained level through the early stages. In the back half of the set, the Warriors began to separate from the Saints with a 7-1 run. From there, the Warriors would claim the 25-20 victory. Set two had a similar start to the first, as little separated the two sides. The Warriors gained momentum through a 4-0 run, which would give them a five-point advantage. That momentum is all the Warriors needed, as from there, Tech maintained control of the set, not allowing the Saints a way back in, taking set two 25-19. Again, in the third set, the score was level early on. With the score tied 8-8, the Orange and Black would tally seven straight points, giving them control of the set. Ultimately, the Warriors would complete the sweep with a 25-19 win.

The Warriors were led by Jacqueline Allaway and Amelia Schultz with 10 kills apiece. Emiline Wood, Kristin Matlack, Isabella Assaley, and Kassidy Boener all served up one ace. Schultz also led the Warriors in blocks with five in the match. Matlack tallied 23 assists, while Wood posted 24 digs.

Tech moves to 11-9 on the season and 4-4 in conference. The Warriors are back in action on Friday, October 3rd, as they travel to Southfield, Michigan, to take on Lawrence Tech. First serve with the Blue Devils is slated for 7:00 p.m.
