FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team returned to the floor on Friday evening, hosting the top team in the conference, Aquinas College. With the result of the contest, the Warriors' seven-game win streak came to an end as the Saints took the match in three sets 15-25, 15-25, and 14-25
In the opening set, the visitors got off to a fast start as they jumped to an early 10-4 lead. The Warriors continued to battle, but the early lead was too much to overcome as the visitors took the set 25-15. Set two was almost an exact replica of the first as the Saints again took an early 10-4 lead. From there, the Warriors would battle back but fall 15-25. The visitors had another strong start in the third set. As a result of the Saints' strong start, the Warriors would go on to fall 14-25.
Tech was led by
Jacqueline Allaway with six kills,
Emiline Wood and
Kassidy Boener with one ace apiece,
Hannah Teich with three blocks, and
Isabella Assaley with 13 assists.
Paige Redder and Wood each recorded five digs.
The Warriors sit at 16-10 on the season and 9-5 in conference play. Tech has a short turnaround as they host Cornerstone for their next contest on Saturday afternoon. First serve against the Golden Eagles is set for 2:00 p.m.
