DEARBORN, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team had a quick turnaround, taking on the University of Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines on Saturday afternoon in Dearborn. Bouncing back from Friday's contest, the Warriors would sweep the Wolverines with scores of 25-17, 27-25, and 25-15.
In the opening set, an early 6-0 run, which featured kills from
Amelia Schultz,
Jacqueline Allaway, and
Jaycee Strawsma, gave the Warriors a six-point advantage. The hosts would battle back to cut Tech's lead down to two points, but the Warriors would quickly respond, stretching the lead back to six, 20-14. Down the stretch, Tech maintained control, winning the set 25-17. In the second set, neither side was able to gain an edge over the other. Matching each other step for step, the Warriors found themselves trailing 23-24. Back-to-back kills from
Lauren Snyder and
Keira Hans would put the Warriors back on top, 25-24. The hosts would level the score at 25, but Tech would take the set 27-25. The third set was all Orange and Black as a 4-0 run to open saw Tech seize control. The Warriors wouldn't slow down after taking the early lead, cruising to a 25-15 win to seal the match.
Lauren Snyder led the side with 11 kills.
Hannah Teich recorded four service aces.
Jacqueline Allaway posted four blocks.
Kristin Matlack tallied 26 assists, while also leading the side with seven digs.
The Warriors are now 18-11 on the season and 11-6 in conference play. The Warriors return to action on Friday, October 31, as they travel to Adrian, Michigan, for a 7:00 p.m. contest with Siena Heights University.
