DEFIANCE, Ohio – The No. 17 ranked Indiana Tech men's soccer team made a quick trip east to play Defiance College on Wednesday afternoon, cruising to a comfortable 3-0 win for their fourth straight victory.
Tech would have a number of chances to score before finally finding the back of the net in the 19
th minute.
Thomas Cole would be the one to make the breakthrough on an assist by
Emre Baris, giving Tech the lead.
Alvaro Martin would score the first goal of his Warrior career, assisted by
Matija Stupar, just before halftime to make it 2-0 Tech. In the second half, Martin would make it a brace for himself and a third Warrior goal, scoring on a pass from
Gui Moreira in the 67
th minute. The Orange & Black wouldn't allow a shot in the second half, and only allowed one all game, maintaining the 3-0 lead through to the final whistle.
Cuba Grant would get the start in goal, earning the win and making one save.
Alex Kyriakides played the second half in goal for the Warriors, helping to preserve the clean sheet.
The Warriors improve to 9-3-1 overall and 5-1-0 in WHAC play after the win. Up next, Tech will host Lawrence Tech University on Saturday, October 11
th at 4pm at Warrior Athletic Field in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
