FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team hosted Defiance College on Wednesday afternoon in a game that the Warriors dominated from start to finish, picking up their biggest win of the season, 4-0.
The Warriors would get firing early against the Yellow Jackets when
Shelby DeRidder scored the opening goal just over three minutes into the game.
Aubrey Young would pick up the assist on the goal as Tech led 1-0. In the 30
th minute,
Georgina Palos Noguer would double the Warriors lead with a goal assisted by
Aariyah Hallet. Coming out of the halftime break, Tech would again score quickly as Palos Noguer would grab her second goal of the game in the 49
th minute. Less than five minutes later, Tech's leading goal scorer,
Jordan Kallet, would score her fourth of the season to make it 4-0 Warriors. Palos Noguer would assist Kallet's goal, making it three goal contributions on the day for the junior from Catalonia, Spain. Aside from just the goals, the Warriors would put together a complete performance against the Yellow Jackets, registering season highs in shots, shots on target, and goals, while also not allowing a single shot in the game and pitching their second shutout of the season. Madison Strain earned the win in goal for the first of her career.
The Warriors improve to 2-8-0 overall and 2-4-0 in WHAC play after the win. Tech will host Lawrence Tech University on Saturday, October 11
th at 1pm at Warrior Athletic Field.
