FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team hit the court on Wednesday evening as they welcomed Lourdes University to the Schaefer Center for a conference showdown. Facing the Gray Wolves for the second time this season, the Warriors replicated their performance from the first meeting, taking the match in straight sets, 25-25-25.
In the opening set, there was little to separate the sides as the Warriors held a two-point lead for the majority of the set. Late in the set, a kill from
Lauren Snyder would help propel the Warriors to a 3-0 run, which would lead to a 25-20 win. Set two was level until an 8-1 run from the Warriors would help decide the outcome. After the run, leading 18-10, the Warriors would cruise to a 25-16 win in the second. After set two, the Warriors were rolling and opened the third set on an 11-2 run. After the fast start, the Warriors continued to extend their lead before settling for a 25-15 win.
Lauren Snyder led the Warriors' attack with 10 kills, followed by
Lauren Paska with seven.
Paige Redder led the side with three service aces and 17 digs.
Jacqueline Allaway and
Amelia Schultz each tallied four blocks in the contest.
Kristin Matlack led the side with 17 assists.
The Warriors move to 14-9 on the season and 7-4 in conference play. Tech hits the road for their next contest, traveling to Defiance College for a matchup with the Yellow Jackets. First serve in Defiance is set for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10.
