Cross Country and Men’s Soccer Set for NAIA National Championships

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The fall sports seasons are wrapping up and three Warriors teams will be heading to the NAIA National Championships. Men's and women's cross country and men's soccer have all earned their way to postseason action starting this weekend.

The Tech men's and women's cross country teams are sending six athletes down to the sunshine state this week after stellar performances at the WHAC Championships two weeks ago. On the men's side, Juan Caballero earned first team all-conference honors and Ayub Sayid and Giulio Romano earned second team all-conference honors to book their tickets to nationals, while Kobee Beck would also earn a spot in the big race. For the women, Bronwyn Nel is looking to give Indiana Tech another All-American coming off her WHAC Championship title in one of the best performances in recent history. Sarah Koker would earn second team all-conference, also making her way to nationals. The cross country national championships are set for Friday, November 21st in Tallahassee, Florida. The women's race starts at 8:30am and the men's race is at 9:30am.

The men's soccer team heads to the national tournament after winning a seventh straight WHAC Tournament title last week, defeating No. 14 ranked Madonna University. The Warriors are currently ranked No. 17 and have seven top 25 wins this season. They are 16-4-1 overall on the season and finished in second place in conference play with a 9-2 record. Tech will play No. 20 ranked Baker University who come into the national tournament with a 14-4-3 record. The Wildcats won the Heart of America Athletic Conference regular season championship and lost the conference tournament championship game in a shootout to No. 2 ranked MidAmerica Nazarene University. The NAIA Second Round matchup will be played in Baldwin City, Kansas on Saturday, November 22nd at 5pm (CT)/6pm (ET).
