HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team came up short on the road Wednesday night, falling 69–61 to Huntington inside Platt Arena.
The Warriors battled through a tightly contested first half, entering the break down just one point, 29–30, after trading runs and forcing five early ties. Indiana Tech leaned heavily on its interior scoring, generating 40 points in the paint, but ultimately could not keep pace with Huntington's efficient second-half shooting surge.
Ryan Moorer powered the Warriors offensively, delivering a game-high 22 points to go along with six rebounds and three steals.
Taylor Covington added 13 points, six boards, and three assists.
Gabby Richie supplied a spark from the perimeter, connecting on three triples while chipping in a tally of 11 points, and
Jaidyn Gulley added seven points and seven rebounds.
Indiana Tech trailed by just five entering the fourth, but Huntington seized control late behind a decisive run and strong work on the glass. The Foresters out-rebounded the Warriors 42–32 and capitalized at the foul line to put the contest on ice.
The Warriors fall to 1–1 on the season and return home for their next contest as they welcome No. 10-ranked Indiana Wesleyan for a 6:00 p.m. start on Tuesday, November 11.
