Upland, Ind. — The Indiana Tech women's basketball team traveled to Upland for a midweek matchup against RV Taylor University on Tuesday night. Coming off an extended break away from competition, the Warriors took a moment to settle in and find their rhythm, scoring four minutes into the first quarter while being down by ten. They were then able to to establish their flow and assert dominance on the court
Indiana Tech set the tone after the first few minutes, jumping out to a 19–12 lead after the first quarter and maintaining control for much of the first half. The Warriors entered halftime leading by 8 in the second quarter and continued to outpace Taylor through the third.
Senior Taylor Covington led all Warriors with a game-high 25 points, knocking down four three-pointers while adding four assists and a block. Ryan Moorer provided a strong presence inside, finishing with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Jaidyn Gulley posted a double-double with 11 points, 12 rebounds, four steals, and three assists, anchoring Tech on both ends of the floor.
Indiana Tech held its ground defensively and forced key stops throughout the night, but Taylor used a late fourth-quarter surge to pull ahead in the final minutes. Despite a strong closing push from the Warriors, the comeback attempt came up just short.
The Warriors moved to 9–4 overall and 6–1 in conference play, showing resilience and competitiveness against an undefeated opponent. Indiana Tech will look to bounce back on the road against Madonna University on January 3.
