FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Women's cross country runner
Bronwyn Nel has been named the Warrior of the Month for November, the Indiana Tech Athletic Department announced.
The freshman from Benoni, South Africa had a history making November for the Warriors cross country program. In the month alone, she became a WHAC Champion, NAIA All-American, and broke the program record for the 6k.
On November 7
th, Nel would help the Warriors to a third place finish at the WHAC Championships by winning the race to claim WHAC Runner of the Year, WHAC Newcomer of the Year, and First Team All-Conference honors. She became just the third Indiana Tech runner across both programs to win the WHAC Championship, while also breaking her own school 6k record with a remarkable time of 21:09 in the process. Following that impressive performance, two weeks later Nel would finish 22
nd overall in a field of 331 runners at the NAIA National Championships to become an All-American. She is the fifth women's cross country runner in program history to earn All-American honors. With the cross country season wrapped up, Nel will look to continue her breakout freshman campaign on the track over the winter and spring seasons.
Nel joins Kristin Matlack and Liam Arthur as Warriors of the Month honors in 2025-26. Each month during the academic year, the Indiana Tech Athletic Department honors one athlete that has excelled in their sport and in the classroom while displaying "Warrior Pride" throughout the month.
