FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team welcomed the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers to Fort Wayne on Wednesday evening for a WHAC contest. After a big first half, the Orange and Black cruised to a 98-79 victory.
It was a fast start for the Orange and Black as
Blake Davison, who had the hot hand out of the gate and scored the Warriors' first 12 points, opened on a 14-0 run, which spanned the opening five minutes. Tech didn't slow down the remainder of the half as Davison's 16 and
Crew Gibson's 10 points, along with high pressure on the defensive end, helped lead the Warriors to a 51-35 advantage headed into the midway break. The second half was a closer contest, but the damage done in the first half was too much for the visitors to overcome as the Warriors rolled to a 98-79 victory.
Blake Davison led all scorers with a stat line of 22 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
Crew Gibson posted a double-double with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists.
Max Perez tallied 11 points, two rebounds, and one assist.
Tech moves to 19-5 on the season and 16-1 in conference play with the win. Up next, the Orange and Black will travel to Lourdes University on Saturday, February 15. Tip-off with the Gray Wolves is set for 3:00 p.m.
